acrl standards

As part of my LCP, I am looking into how Library Services can apply the new ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education, specificially in relation to my topic of workplace literacy for skilled trades. I found an excellent resource from Benedictine University, a Libguide which explains the new framework. This guide offers a series of learning objective related to each frame of the standards and provides specific learning activities to meet these objectives.

The Framework components are:

Authority Is Constructed and Contextual
Information Creation as a Process
Information Has Value
Research as Inquiry
Scholarship as Conversation
Searching as Strategic Exploration

This guide references Project Information Literacy’s Lifelong Learning Study (2014), which asked college graduates about their workplace learning needs.
